Touchpads.. They are mostly uncomfortable and hard to use. This is true for even the latest laptops from major vendors. Swiftpoint was designed to replace touchpads and it is the result of two years of development time.

We will now see whether this minuscule mouse achieves its promise or not:
Let’s start our review with another discomfort. When you use your laptop, you will need to find a surface for your mouse as well. It is true whenever your laptop sits on, on a table, on your lap etc. Swiftpoint aims to rescue you from this discomfort.

First of all, Swiftpoint mouse is an attraction magnet. Naturally, many people would want to have it thanks to its futuristic design. It does not look like a computer accessory. Actually, it looks like a strange alien-type remote controller.
The company CEO said that it was designed to put every ergonomic aspects of a regular pen grip. Such decision aims user comfort.
We have played with it several hours on our Windows computer and at first, it was a bit awkward feeling. There is certainly an orientation time, but after this, all was more natural. Our thumb and middle finger positions were comfortable and the rubber grooves felt soft.

How does it compare to a large Logitech mouse? I personally use Logitech G500 for my daily usage and now thinking to change it. Swiftpoint feels very nice even after several hours of usage.
The tiny mouse ships with a USB receiver with a magnetic piece attached. It is possible to put mouse on the piece and in 30 secs, you get 1hrs of usage time. That’s what we call as cool gadget!
The setup is a breeze. Actually, there is no setup. Just plugin the USB dongle to your Windows PC or Mac and ready to use. Several programmed shortcuts exist on the mouse. For example, if you hold the left mouse button down and make scrolling, it will zoom in on websites.
The tilt function is interesting and deserves the praise. It is used to scroll. Use your index finger on the wheel and tilt to the right. This is the feeling of future.

Overall, I was a touchpad hater. Swiftpoint now stands as a very solid alternative with its innovative futuristic design, amazing tilt scrolling function and usability.
Downside? Current $65 price tag can hurt your piggy bank to some degree.
